Internal Combustion.

SATURDAY
My laptop is still freakin' tweakin'. I'm scanning the monkey poo out of it. Doubt I'll find anything though. Not really sure how to get to System Restore without Explorer...dang.

I'm like my gaming computer. I got a Quad-Core processor (in the way that i can do a lot of things at once). I have ann X-Fi card installed (i love surround sound, and won't go w/o it!). But, I'm obviously running Windows because of all of the friggin mistakes I make.

I just bought GRAW 2 from my trusty GameStop, thanks Josh. It's probably the first game that works at high-res with max everything perfectly right outta the box. I am really surprised with this game. High FPS with these specs.

But, one question....Where in the world are the health pickups?! Why does this have to be such a "2 shots-and-you're-dead" Tom Clancy game?! Dang.

Running it at:

Tweakin'

My laptop just got sick. Windows Explorer won't run for more than about 5 seconds, something is shutting it down.

OhNoYouDon't

Each day has its own problems with this thing. Now, it just won't stop rebooting. It's obvious that iBuyPower did not do it's job. I guess this is the kind of quality to expect when rushing the order. sucks.

Success.

Finally, after much time working with this comp, I have finally resolved the following issues:

  • USB Hub failure
  • Crysis SLI incapable
  • Sound card crackling/jittering
  • HL2 installation failure
  • COD2 installation failure

And have not resolved the long beep at power-on....which I now believe to be a test that it has failed in hardware. But, recently I have experienced a spontaneous dimming of my screen at certain moments when I bring up IE7.

But, I can now come to the conclusion that SLI technology is great when the programs are optimized for it. booyah.

The Hit List

  • I realized that a brand new computer with Vista 64-bit can't beat a laptop with 8gigs of space left to waking up from standby.
  • Can't find disc one for F.E.A.R.
  • Half-Life 2 doesn't work on Vista x64
  • USB doesn't work.
  • Bluetooth doesn't work.
  • Internet doesn't work.
  • I am sitting here trying to download a USB patch that's 385Kbs and it's at 46%....but it's been there for over 2 minutes…yeah, it's downloading at 753 BYTES/second!
  • Why me?

It's time to put her down.

I hope you find all of this exquisitely humorous.

The last thing it did was let out a long loud beep, and that's when I decided to silence this menace before it let out any more vulgarities.

Day 3 with the X Faktor Machine

Mein Kampf mit der Maschine!
This computer.....wow...I don't even know where to start. I think the following image explains my situation. These are desparate times, that call for desparate measures. Mouse, keyboard, external hard drives, smith & wesson.....they're all just tools for dealing with the computer...some, more friendly than others, but this is how we deal with problems in Jersey. snafu
~Solving the problem has never been this easy! Just point at the machine giving you trouble and pull the trigger!~
